Job summary

Indeed is seeking a Software Engineer VI to act as a Technical Fellow for the Interop space, guiding architectural direction and partnering with senior engineers, product leaders, and executives to scale B2B integrations and drive growth.

This role requires deep experience in service architectures, AI/ML-enabled practices, and outstanding communication to lead a 40-50 engineer team across domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Math/Engineering or related field with 15+ years, or Master's with 12+ years, or PhD with 8+ years of experience.
• Experience designing and evolving service-oriented architectures, distributed systems, APIs, and data platforms (SQL and NoSQL).
• Experience applying AI/ML capabilities to accelerate architecture, development velocity, and integration quality at scale.
• Demonstrated ownership as a principal technical and product contributor.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to influence technical direction across engineering, product, and executive teams.

Responsibilities

• Own architectural assessment and simplification across multiple teams or domains.
• Guide architectural decisions with senior engineers, technical leaders, and business partners.
• Document architectural decisions and trade-offs effectively.
• Translate architectural needs into improvements for shared platforms, tools, or processes.
• Contribute code and design improvements to internal systems with high quality and maintainability.
• Influence architectural standards across the organization through collaboration.
