Job summary

Bridgenext is seeking a Principal Engineer / Technical Architect to lead architecture for modernization in Wealth and Asset Management environments. The role combines business-domain insight with hands-on design, coding, and troubleshooting, guiding large-scale enterprise platforms with scalable, secure patterns.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering with at least 3 years as Principal Engineer or Architect on large-scale enterprise platforms.
• Deep hands-on development in Java/Spring Boot, .NET/C#, Python or equivalent with capability to review production-quality code.
• Experience with Azure and modern distributed-system patterns, microservices, containers/Kubernetes, serverless, resiliency, and scaling.
• Proven API and integration design skills using REST, OpenAPI, API gateways, async messaging and event streaming.
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, caching, and data consistency considerations.
• Domain experience in US Retirement, wealth/asset management or similar financial services is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed solution design across services, APIs, data persistence, security, and deployment.
• Write and review code, build POCs, perform technical spikes, and set implementation standards.
• Design cloud-native distributed systems with focus on scalability, availability, and disaster recovery.
• Define and promote reusable API/integration patterns and event-driven architectures.
• Mentor engineers, review designs and PRs, and guide modernization without disrupting business processing.
