Job summary

Southwest Airlines is seeking a Tech Lead Software Engineer to guide a team delivering Workday integration and configuration solutions. You will own architecture, security, and delivery strategies, partnering with business and technology stakeholders to maximize the Workday investment.

You will mentor engineers, ensure reliable scalability, and support HR/payroll operations across the enterprise in a predominantly remote role with occasional travel

Qualifications

• Expert level experience in software engineering and architecture.
• Experience with Workday HR/payroll systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate development estimates in support of feasibility assessments.
• Create and review designs with Solution Architects and shared services teams.
• Develop, maintain, and review software focusing on quality and maintainability.
• Develop and execute unit, functional, and integration tests with a focus on automation and TDD.
• Provide technical oversight for performance testing and non-functional requirements.
• Plan deployment activities in non-prod and prod environments.
• Mentor and coach development team on architecture and development topics.
• Evaluate code for standards, structure, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Travel/remote coordination as required.
