Job summary

Twilio is seeking a Tech Lead/Sr. Principal Engineer (L6) in Emerging Technologies to contribute hands-on technical expertise and drive rapid prototyping within the incubation team.

You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to design innovative solutions, leverage modern technologies, and enable fast experimentation with the ETI tech lead. Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency across modern programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java or Go with the ability to select the right tool for the job.
• Experience building applications using front-end (React, Angular) and/or back-end (Node.js, Springboot) frameworks.
• Data Architecture: solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL paradigms.
• Mastery of an agentic coding operating model with MCP and LLMs to accelerate AI-assisted development.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset with effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, and own end-to-end high-stakes prototypes and production-ready solutions.
• Drive AI R&D and collaborate with cross-functional teams to experiment and integrate AI/ML technologies.
• Establish governance for code reviews and mentor peers to elevate code quality.
• Communicate architectural decisions and project velocity to executives and peers.
• Navigate ambiguity and rapidly adjust technical strategies to shifting requirements and market dynamics.
