Elder Hanson & Company, Ltd. is a well-established, small CPA firm based in downtown Naperville, Illinois, with a collaborative team working primarily in a remote environment.

We are seeking an experienced, full-time remote Tax Manager to join our growing firm. The Tax Manager will prepare and review a broad range of individual, business, estate, and trust income tax returns, provide tax planning and consulting, manage client relationships, and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, or related field required.
• Active CPA or EA license required.
• 7+ years of progressive public accounting experience with substantial tax prep/review.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex tax returns for individuals, estates, trusts, partnerships.
• Manage and review tax returns.
• Prepare and review tax return projections.
• Manage multiple client engagements and proactive client communication.
• Research complex federal and state income tax issues and develop practical solutions.
• Identify and communicate tax planning opportunities and recommendations to clients.
• Review financial statements and accounting records, including tax basis statements.
• Mentor and provide guidance to staff.
• Assist with workflow planning and engagement profitability.
• Stay current with changes in federal and state tax laws and communicate developments to clients and staff.
