Job summary

GrowthLab Financial is seeking an experienced Tax Supervisor/Manager to lead our AI‑driven tax practice. This role is fully remote and reports to the leadership team, overseeing 250 annual returns with focus on accuracy, deadlines, and client advisory.

You bring 7+ years of hands-on tax prep and review, CPA or EA is a plus, and strong knowledge of 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120‑S. Multi‑state filings and mentoring responsibilities are expected.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on tax preparation and review experience.
• CPA or EA credential is a plus, not required.
• Strong knowledge of 1040, 1065, 1120 and 1120-S returns.
• Multi-state experience with apportionment and nexus.
• Experience leading or mentoring others.
• Ability to explain tax issues to a founder in plain English.

Responsibilities

• Review returns and make the final call before submission.
• Own the tax calendar: deadlines, extensions, capacity, assignments.
• Identify AI and automation opportunities to streamline prep.
• Coach the tax team to move from prep to review and advisory.
• Provide year-round planning on entity structure and multi-state issues.
• Be a trusted voice for clients and work with accounting team for clean books.
