Aston Carter is seeking a Tax Associate to support multi-state sales and use, gross receipts, and other indirect tax compliance. The role focuses on data analysis, filing returns, coordinating payments, and supporting monthly close. It is fully remote with predictable monthly and quarterly workflows.

The position offers exposure to multi-state indirect tax compliance and collaboration with internal teams. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and at least 1 year of tax

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least 1 year of professional accounting or tax experience.
• Basic tax preparation experience, such as sales tax, SALT, or 1040s.
• Strong Excel skills, including lookups and data analysis.
• Ability to pull, reconcile, and analyze data across systems and reporting tools.
• Understanding of accrual accounting and month-end close.
• Ability to manage recurring compliance deadlines.

Responsabilidades

• Pull, validate, reconcile, and analyze data; organize taxable activity and enter filings in jurisdiction portals.
• Prepare and file state and local returns; assist with Canadian and other international filings.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance deadlines; ~8 sales tax filings per month and related filings.
• Prepare tax payment requests and coordinate timely payments with Accounts Payable; complete multi-state reconciliations.
• Audit taxability and apply sales tax requirements based on contracts and activities.
• Maintain tax controls and procedures; support ad hoc analysis and broader accounting tasks.
