Job summary

NEI Electric Power Engineering seeks a mid-level Transmission & Distribution Designer to support electrical and mechanical systems design in a remote-friendly Lakewood, CO setting. You will work under a Professional Engineer to deliver quality, on-time project drawings and specifications.

Role requires hands-on drafting experience, proficiency with PLSCADD and AutoCAD, and familiarity with NEC/NESC/RUS. Travel is minimal and the Denver labor market informs compensation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Drafting, Design or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant engineering drafting and design experience.
• Ability to interpret one-line/three-line diagrams and schematics.
• Proficiency with PLSCADD and AutoCAD required.
• Familiarity with NEC, NESC, RUS and related codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design and prepare drawings for electrical power and mechanical systems (one-line/three-line diagrams, schematics, conduit sizing).
• Provide conceptual/high-level designs during bidding with limited information.
• Assist development of T&D standards.
• Create CAD/PLSCADD drawings and related documents (BOD, BOM, specs).
• Contribute to QA/QC, ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
