Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Remote Systems Integration Engineer - SME to support FAA NAS modernization under the BNATCS contract. The role focuses on upgrading National Airspace Systems and coordinating installations across CONUS/OCONUS sites in mission-critical environments.

You will plan, implement, and test hardware/software deployments, collaborate with FAA and vendors, and ensure ORM and site readiness while maintaining security and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance
• 7 years of hardware and software deployment/installation experience
• Redhat Linux experience
• Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards (single-mode, multi-mode, CAT6)
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Must be able to travel at least 90% of the time on deployments for both CONUS and potentially OCONUS locations
• Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in confined spaces (server closets, raised floors)
• Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks effectively

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze site survey data to validate site conditions and develop Site Specific Implementation Plans
• Track project tasks and milestone status across multiple sites, ensuring coordination and risk communication
• Collaborate with vendors and the FAA to ensure end-to-end site completion
• Conduct discussions with facilities on equipment placement as required
• Perform Operational Risk Management (ORM) as directed by the FAA
• Coordinate with vendors on ORM plans
• Provide on-site engineering and installation support
• Perform site hardware installation activities per Site-Specific Implementation Plan
• Perform site software installations per FAA policies and codes
• Perform infrastructure and installation checkout
• Perform site functionality tests including network connectivity
• Conduct configuration management activities such as switch configurations
• Conduct Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI)
• Support disposition of property
• Comply with FAA facility requirements and manage site staff relationships
