Job summary

Scripps Health is hiring a Systems Engineer for a remote role within the San Diego area. You will support enterprise infrastructure, optimize MDM platforms, and manage the lifecycle of deployments to ensure secure, scalable operations.

The role requires advanced infrastructure design, scripting expertise, and strong communication skills, with on-call rotations and collaboration with vendors across the organization.

Qualifications

• Excellent critical and analytical thinking with strong customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Advanced infrastructure design skills and solid project management.
• Expert in multiple computing disciplines (OS, virtualization, networking or cloud).
• Expert in at least one scripting language.
• Strong understanding of networking layers (VLANs, routing, spanning tree) and security concepts (DMZ, firewalls).

Responsibilities

• Support enterprise infrastructure and endpoint management ensuring scalability, security, performance, and reliability.
• Optimize MDM platforms (Intune, Workspace ONE) across Windows, macOS and iOS.
• Lead full lifecycle of MDM implementations: requirements, design, migration, deployment, testing, documentation, support.
• Package, test, and deploy enterprise apps across managed endpoints.
• Design and maintain cloud-based End User Computing solutions (Azure, Citrix, Omnissa, IGEL).
• Create technical documentation, deployment procedures, and architecture diagrams.
• Automate administration and deployment tasks with PowerShell and other scripts.
• Engage with vendors and stakeholders, lead change management and on-call rotations.
