Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Surgical/Clinical Reviewer to abstract surgical data for the NSQIP program. The role is remote, with preference for candidates in the metro St. Louis area, and requires a nursing background.

You will ensure data accuracy, coordinate with surgical stakeholders, and support timely reporting and quality initiatives across hospital sites. Strong chart review skills and attention to detail are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Nursing diploma/associate's degree required.
• Experience with nursing or health information management (HIM/Nursing) preferred.
• 2–5 years of related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Identify surgical patients for registry inclusion using program criteria.
• Collect preoperative, operative, and postoperative data from medical records.
• Meet accrual requirements through proper randomization and timely case completion.
• Build relationships with Surgery, Quality, Nursing, Medical Records and IS teams to support program success.
• Conduct data quality checks and participate in team meetings and NSQIP education.
