Job summary

American Data Network is seeking experienced NSQIP-Peds Registry Abstractors to support accurate and timely surgical registry abstraction for assigned healthcare clients. This role requires hands-on NSQIP-Peds abstraction experience and the ability to review clinical documentation with high accuracy.

Contractors and full-time employees are hired for Data Abstraction roles. Remote work is available, with at least 15 hours per week for contractors.

Qualifications

• Current Surgical Clinical Reviewer certification.
• At least 2 years of NSQIP-Peds Registry abstraction experience.
• Ability to independently abstract NSQIP-Peds cases using registry specifications and clinical documentation.
• Strong understanding of healthcare quality reporting, registry abstraction, clinical documentation review, and medical record interpretation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, documentation, and follow-through.
• Comfort working in multiple EHRs, registry platforms, vendor tools, and data collection systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review patient medical records and abstracts data for the NSQIP-Peds Registry.
• Apply registry specifications, definitions, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and abstraction guidelines accurately and consistently.
• Interpret clinical documentation related to surgical procedures, diagnoses, treatments, outcomes, complications, and related quality measures.
• Enter accurate and complete data into assigned registry platforms, EHRs, vendor tools, or other data collection systems.
• Maintain a high level of abstraction accuracy, completeness, and attention to detail.
• Meet assigned productivity expectations, weekly progress goals, and internal and client deadlines.
• Participate in quality assurance activities, including feedback, correction, validation, and IRR reviews.
• Communicate professionally with account leads, team members, and client contacts when clarification is needed.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with ADN, client, HIPAA, and data security requirements.
