Job summary

South Texas College seeks a part-time Supplemental Instruction Leader to provide academic learning support, tutor students in classrooms and skill labs, and assist with daily operations of the Centers for Learning Excellence.

You will prepare workshops, guide study sessions, and maintain records while promoting academic resources. Requires strong communication, organization, and collaboration with faculty and staff.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete multiple tasks with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as a team player within the department.

Responsibilities

• Provides educational assistance to students in specific disciplines to improve comprehension and mastery.
• Assists in preparation of workshops and materials to enhance student learning.
• Attends classes or study sessions onsite or online on a scheduled basis.
• Guides students in diverse instructional settings with hands-on practice.
• Develops and maintains relationships with instructors, students, and supervisors.
• Keeps regular records and lesson plans using required software and forms.
• Promotes and presents information about academic support services.
• Participates in departmental training and meetings.
