Job summary

South Texas College seeks a Supplemental Instruction Leader to provide academic support in the Centers for Learning Excellence. You will conduct supplemental instruction, tutor students in classrooms and labs, and assist with daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; college certificate or 30 college hours preferred.
• Demonstrated mastery of sufficient coursework; B average or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides educational assistance to students to improve comprehension and mastery of the subject.
• Prepares workshops and materials to boost understanding and supplement assignments.
• Holds study sessions onsite or online as required.
• Guides students with feedback and hands-on practice.
• Integrates study strategies with course content.
• Leads in-class discussions and activities as directed.
• Maintains relationships with instructors, students, and supervisor.
• Keeps records and lesson plans with required software.
• Promotes academic support services at the Center for Learning Excellence.
• Serves as liaison with faculty and staff to support student success.
• Participates in departmental training and meetings.
• Access to a remote site with reliable internet to perform duties remotely as required.
