The County of El Dorado seeks a Supervising Accountant/Auditor to lead a team of accounting and fiscal staff handling payroll, payables, receivables, and the general ledger. You will perform professional internal auditing and accounting work across County records, procedures, and reports.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze departmental and County accounting procedures for conformance with laws and regulations; recommend improvements.
• Prepare and direct the preparation of audits, financial statements and fiscal reports.
• Review accounting documents to ensure accuracy and make correcting entries.
• Examine supporting documentation to establish proper authorization and conformance with contracts and regulations.
• Prepare and maintain control and subsidiary accounting records of various transactions.
• Supervise internal auditing and related staff; plan and assign work.
• Participate in hiring and training of staff; evaluate performance and provide guidance.
