County of El Dorado is seeking qualified accountants to join its Finance and Administration teams in Placerville, CA. The roles involve professional-level accounting work, including maintaining financial records and preparing ledgers, journals, and reports for multiple County programs and services.

Accountant I requires a four-year degree in accounting or related field (or substitution); Accountant II requires two years of accounting experience beyond Accountant I, preferably in a government

Qualifications

• Requires combination of experience, education and training as described.
• Accountant I: degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, business, economics, or related field; professional substitution allowed.
• Accountant II: two years of accounting experience beyond Accountant I; governmental/public sector experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Review accounting documents for accuracy and make correcting entries.
• Examine documents for proper authorization and compliance with agreements, contracts, and regulations.
• Prepare trial balances, closings, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare and reconcile journal entries and bank statements.
• Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers and supporting schedules.
• Assist in budget development, transfers, and expenditure control.
