Job summary

Rhode Island Energy seeks a Training Specialist to deliver comprehensive training and ensure high-quality procedures for Electric Substation Operations and Maintenance field equipment. The role includes a blended learning approach and support for Metering, Overhead, Underground, or Relay Test disciplines as needed.

The position serves as a technical subject matter expert and requires collaboration with Safety, Engineering Standards, Training, and operations teams to maintain and improve

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline; year-for-year experience may substitute education.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical training programs to clients using a blended learning approach.
• Design, develop, and update procedures—checklists, job aids, and work methods.
• Coordinate review of new or revised documents with Safety, Engineering Standards, Training.
• Keep training content up to date with latest requirements and innovations.
• Oversee learning records administration including course completions, attendance, assessments.
• Support emergency/storm roles and may require after-hours work.
• Assist with remote/on-site mix of work locations and ensure safety compliance.
