Job summary

UtilliCo seeks a detail-oriented Structural Drafter to support electric substation projects for utility clients. Based in St.

Louis, MO, Raleigh, NC, or Remote, you will produce substation structural designs, foundations, and equipment supports with CAD tools and BIM methods. The ideal candidate holds an Associate degree in drafting and has at least three years of substation drafting experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD 3D, AutoCAD, and related CAD software, plus familiarity with codes and

Qualifications

Associates degree in drafting (or equivalent technical degree).
Minimum 3 years of relevant post-education experience with substation structural or utility infrastructure drafting experience.
Experience with AutoCAD and 3D drafting.
Familiar with BIM processes and structural drafting.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from sites, surveys, and drawings to support substation drafting.
Use CAD software to prepare precise substation structural drawings.
Provide design assistance for foundations, steel structures, and equipment supports.
Verify drawing accuracy, dimensions, and material quantities; escalate issues when needed.
Collaborate with structural, electrical, and civil teams on project work.
Ensure compliance with client standards, codes, and contract requirements.
Prepare multiple design versions for engineers’ review.
Develop and apply CAD skills and follow client standards.
