Job summary
Our client, a renewable energy engineering and consulting firm, is hiring a Substation Engineer with 2+ years of experience for 100% remote work across the United States. You will support design and execution of collector substations and renewable interconnection projects, collaborating with a seasoned power delivery team.
The role emphasizes remote collaboration, strong communication, and familiarity with utility standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 2+ years of substation engineering experience.
- Experience with utility substations and renewable interconnection projects.
- Familiarity with utility standards and substation design practices.
Responsibilities
- Support the engineering and design of collector substations and renewable interconnection facilities.
- Develop and review physical substation layouts, grounding plans, and equipment arrangements.
- Assist with equipment selection and specifications for power transformers, disconnect switches, and protective relaying systems.
- Coordinate with transmission, civil, structural, and protection & control teams.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction packages.
