Job summary

Actalent in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Substation Engineer for a permanent, fully remote role. You will develop scopes, one-line diagrams, and estimates for substations, review drawings, and design protection/grounding systems while coordinating with in‑house and client engineers and guiding junior staff.

A Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (ABET) is required; a Master’s counts toward experience, and a PE license is mandatory. This remote, nationwide position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET) required.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET) will count toward years’ experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Responsibilities

• Develop substation project scopes, diagrams, and cost estimates.
• Review drawings for electrical arrangements, grounding, and plan/section views for codes.
• Engineer lightning protection, grounding, and equipment replacement.
• Update drawings and documentation as needed.
• Verify proper equipment use and material per project standards.
• Ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials.
• Travel to project sites for data collection and requirements.
• Coordinate work within the group to complete substations.
• Provide training and guidance to lower-level engineers.
• Take corrective action if project objectives are not met.
