Job summary

Primoris Power Solutions, LLC is seeking a Substation Engineer to join the Power Solutions team in Texas. The role focuses on electrical design and physical design for substations, including relay upgrades, transformer changes, RTU installs, and new substations.

Lead project delivery, develop scopes, estimates, and schedules, and supervise designers and CAD staff. The position requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of substation design experience; a PE license or

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of experience in substation design and construction preferred.
• Professional Engineering License or Professional Certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of utility substation designs and standards.
• Provide electrical design for relay upgrades, breaker additions/upgrades, transformer replacements, RTU installations, new substations.
• Create project deliverables with scope, estimates and schedules; coordinate with Project Managers.
• Prepare specifications and material lists; oversee drawings and review sets.
• Attend site visits and QA/QC for design packages; mentor junior staff.
