Qualifications

• Education/training in public health, psychology, social work, sociology, health sciences, or related field.
• Experience or training in substance use, behavioral health, harm reduction, health equity, or social services.
• Familiarity with patient care and clinical environments (mental health, primary care, addiction treatment).
• Ability to take initiative, manage time, and plan strategically; strong organization and detail orientation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with diverse populations.
• Comfort with remote work tools, telecommunication, and electronic documentation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver manualized interventions using motivational interviewing and related approaches.
• Develop and maintain resource lists and participant-facing materials.
• Engage with participants and partners in rural communities to support referrals.
• Identify clinical risks and carry out action plans per study protocols.
• Support recruitment, enrollment, data collection, and day-to-day study activities.
• Travel to Ann Arbor and possibly rural sites across Michigan as needed.
