Job summary

Michigan Medicine seeks a highly motivated Addiction Research Specialist Lead to join a growing research team focused on improving public health and expanding access to evidence-informed substance use care. The role partners with study leadership and delivers senior-level addiction care training, consultation, and implementation support to clinic partners across Michigan.

The position involves working with rural clinics to enhance overdose prevention, risk reduction, and medications for opioid

Qualifications

• Experience in patient care and clinical settings including substance use disorders, mental health, or primary care.
• Ability to train and supervise staff in clinical and research settings.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; travel to rural sites.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of evidence-based substance use care and provide technical assistance, including workflow development and continuous quality improvement.
• Provide clinical consultation, supervision, education, training, coaching, and technical assistance for risk reduction and low-barrier care.
• Contribute to writing study interventions, protocols, dissemination materials, and education materials.
• Supervise research staff delivering clinic- and patient-level interventions.
• Support risk assessment and safety management planning by updating protocols.
• Adhere to regulations, confidentiality, data integrity, and SOPs; follow study scripts and workflows.
• Other responsibilities as needed to fulfill study aims.
