Job summary

Stride K12 partner Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy (MGLVA) is hiring a Student Support Advisor to assist grades 6–8 students in staying engaged, attending classes, and making academic progress in a virtual setting.

You will build relationships with students and families, collaborate with teachers and Learning Coaches, and use MTSS data to provide individualized support and interventions.

Qualifications

• Two years of college and two years of education experience OR equivalent combination.
• Ability to pass required background check.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a caseload of students to increase engagement and attendance.
• Provide proactive support to students using data resources.
• Support students and Learning Coaches through onboarding (Strong Start).
• Serve as primary contact between students, Learning Coaches, teachers and administrators.
• Pursue ongoing training to meet dynamic student needs and tools.
