Stride, Inc. is seeking a Community Engagement Specialist for Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy (MGLVA) to support schoolwide engagement with students and families in a remote setting.

You will coordinate events, gather feedback, and promote participation across grade levels and programs. The role emphasizes building strong family partnerships, collaborating with teachers and school leaders, and enhancing the online learning community while ensuring accessibility and inclusion for all

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, human services or related field plus 2 years of experience with families in a similar capacity OR equivalent.
• Familiarity with online learning environments and platforms.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate schoolwide community engagement initiatives for students and families.
• Develop a calendar of in-person outings, virtual events, and family activities.
• Identify ways to increase student and family participation in the MGLVA community.
• Collaborate across grade bands and departments to ensure engagement opportunities are accessible.
• Serve as a welcoming point of connection at school events and activities.
• Build relationships with families and gather feedback on needs and barriers to participation.
• Support efforts to strengthen family belonging and long-term engagement.
• Promote events through appropriate school communication channels.
• Maintain MGLVA's presence on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LC Community.
• Capture positive stories highlighting the MGLVA school community.
• Partner with leadership to support marketing and visibility initiatives.
• Encourage staff to share stories of student success and family engagement.
• Track participation trends to evaluate event effectiveness.
