Job summary

Mid South Steel is seeking an Estimator to prepare detailed cost estimates for multi-family housing projects, focusing on structural steel stairs, rails, and miscellaneous components.

The role supports the Southeast region with remote work and occasional site visits, collaborating with project managers, engineers, detailers, architects, and vendors to ensure accurate, timely bids and competitive pricing.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years in construction estimating, preferably within the structural or miscellaneous steel industry.
• Experience with multi-family housing projects preferred.
• Proficient in Bluebeam, Tekla EPM, and MS Office.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, drawings, and specs for multi-family developments.
• Prepare detailed estimates for structural steel stairs, rails, and miscellaneous products.
• Collaborate with project teams to define scope and clarify requirements.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor/subcontractor quotes for competitive pricing and quality.
