Zusammenfassung

Illinois Legal Aid Online is seeking a Legal Content Director to lead the Legal Content Team and shape content strategy that makes legal information accessible, accurate, and actionable.

You will supervise five staff, collaborate with product and community teams, and ensure high standards for quality, readability, and usability across resources.

ILAO operates mostly remotely with a Chicago office, and periodic in-person meetings are expected; applications from across Illinois are welcome.

Qualifikationen

• Active Illinois law license or eligibility to become active attorney.
• 7+ years publishing digital content and knowledge management.
• 5+ years supervising staff, volunteers, contractors.
• Experience with legal aid, access to justice, or public interest law.
• Ability to distill complex concepts into understandable resources.
• Experience developing content workflows and using content management systems.
• Experience using Google Analytics or similar tools to evaluate content performance.
• Knowledge of SEO and GEO.
• Experience leading cross‑functional work with non-direct reports.
• Experience implementing governance, knowledge governance, or information-management practices.
• Experience building collaborative processes and resolving competing priorities.
• Knowledge of structured content, metadata, taxonomies, information architecture.
• Experience helping staff adopt new tools and workflows.
• Collaborating with technical and nontechnical colleagues on products.
• Proficiency with Internet, Google Workspace, and MS Office.

• Lead and develop a five-person Content Team and oversee volunteers/contractors.
• Ensure content quality, readability, accessibility, and usability.
• Collaborate with Product and Community Engagement Teams on solutions.
• Monitor standards, governance, and content performance measures.
