Job summary

Zeni, the all-in-one financial platform, is seeking a battle-tested Fractional CFO to serve as the dedicated financial strategist for a portfolio of high-growth startups and LLCs. You will embed with clients as their de facto CFO, guiding financial strategy, fundraising, and profitability across industries.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, capital raising, and KPI tracking (burn rate, LTV:CAC, EBITDA), while leveraging AI tools to automate processes.

Qualifications

• Must have sat in the CFO/VP of Finance seat at an operating company.
• 10+ years of progressive financial experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA/CPA/CFA a plus but not required.
• Demonstrated success in securing debt or equity financing.
• Startup ecosystem experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary financial executive for a portfolio of clients (startups and SMBs).
• Manage the full financial lifecycle for clients; cash flow management and board presentations.
• Maintain relationships with client leadership to drive retention and insights.
• Build and maintain financial models to support growth plans and pricing strategies.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting; identify risks and opportunities early.
• Define and track KPIs like burn rate, LTV:CAC, EBITDA margins.
• Lead capital raises from seed to Series A-C and debt financing.
• Manage due diligence and assist with term sheet negotiations.
• Advise on debt vs. equity mix for growth.
