Job summary

Zeni is seeking a battle-tested Fractional CFO to serve as the dedicated financial strategist for a portfolio of startups and LLC clients. You will act as their de facto CFO, guiding financial strategy, fundraising, and profitability optimization.

You will embed in client organizations, drive FP&A, model building, and capital market interactions, while delivering GAAP-compliant reporting and operational excellence across portfolios.

Qualifications

• Seasoned finance leader with CFO/VP of Finance experience in operating companies.
• Experience in fundraising via debt or equity.
• Experience with startups from pre-seed to growth stages is preferred.
• Familiarity with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary financial executive for a portfolio of clients, embedding with CEOs and founders.
• Build and maintain robust financial models to support growth plans and pricing strategies.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and KPI tracking across portfolios, with risk/opportunity analysis.
• Drive fundraising efforts and assist with term sheets and capital structure decisions.
