Job summary

BLN24 is hiring a Strategic Communication Outreach Specialist to lead integrated communications and outreach for transportation research and public-sector initiatives. The role blends strategic planning, digital content, branding, and stakeholder engagement to translate complex policy into accessible messaging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
• Six to ten years of progressively responsible professional experience in strategic communications, public affairs, digital marketing, communications planning, or stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated communications and marketing campaigns across multiple communication channels.
• Experience translating complex technical information into clear, audience-focused communications.
• Experience leading public outreach, stakeholder engagement, and promotional campaigns within federal, research, engineering, transportation, or scientific organizations.
• Strong ability to analyze communications performance using analytics to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead quarterly promotional campaigns to increase magazine subscriptions, digital readership, and global audience reach.
• Develop and execute integrated communications, outreach, and marketing strategies for research initiatives and programs.
• Plan and manage multi-channel campaigns across digital, print, social media, email, and web platforms.
• Lead branding and promotional initiatives ensuring consistent messaging across channels.
• Create, edit, and publish high-quality content including articles, newsletters, posts, and promotional materials.
• Translate complex information into clear content for technical, executive, and public audiences.
• Conduct market research, audience analysis, and reader surveys to inform strategies.
• Analyze campaign performance and recommend continuous improvements.
• Coordinate communications for conferences, trade shows, workshops, and public meetings.
• Collaborate with researchers, editors, designers, and government stakeholders to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
