Job summary

US Foods, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager - Store Development to lead end-to-end retail store construction and renovation projects across multiple markets.

The role collaborates with Real Estate, Store Operations, Merchandising, IT, and Finance to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and brand consistency. The position is remote within the United States (excluding Hawaii and territories) with about 50% travel.

Qualifications

• Five years of retail management or five years related project management.
• Proven track record managing multiple concurrent projects in diverse geographies.
• Must be PC proficient.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, permitting processes, retail operations, and ADA/code compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, AutoCAD, or equivalent construction/project management tools.
• Must be available for overnight work and travel to new store sites (50%).

Responsibilities

• Oversee remodels, store refurbishments and facility maintenance projects.
• Develop and maintain project plans including timelines, budgets, scope, and resources.
• Collaborate with Real Estate, Store Operations, Merchandising, IT, and Finance for lifecycle alignment.
• Serve as liaison with architects, engineers, general contractors, and external partners.
• Prepare estimates and manage project budgets ($5,000 to $1M+).
• Manage multiple projects concurrently and monitor costs vs forecasts.
• Identify value engineering opportunities without compromising brand standards.
• Track vendor performance and ensure quality control throughout lifecycle.
• Ensure permit approvals, inspections, and landlord coordination.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure specs and codes are met.
• Lead workstreams for new stores including Real estate, Construction, Legal, HR, Operations, Marketing, Merchandising, Asset Protection, Accounting/Finance.
