Job summary

GPAC is seeking a Steel Erection Estimator for a remote role. You will review drawings, specs, and RFPS, perform detailed takeoffs for steel, concrete, and connections, and prepare comprehensive cost estimates.

You will solicit bids, negotiate with subcontractors, and work with engineering and operations to validate constructability. Travel for bidding or site visits may be required; the position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree in construction or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years' estimating structural/construction work.
• Knowledge of steel framing, connections, and erection methods.
• Proficiency with takeoff/estimating software and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, and RFPs to understand project needs.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs (steel, concrete, connections, labor, equipment).
• Prepare cost estimates, direct costs, overheads, and contingencies.
• Solicit and negotiate bids from subcontractors and vendors.
• Collaborate with engineering/design/operations to validate constructability.
• Develop bid packages and present proposals to management and clients.
