GoTo is seeking a part-time State Tax Senior Analyst to support state tax compliance, notices, and research from a remote US location. The role focuses on SALT processes, licensing, and annual reporting, with collaboration across finance and other teams.

The position emphasizes accuracy, independent work, and knowledge of tax provisions, Avalara, AvaTax, and NetSuite. The team values diversity, growth, and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience preparing state and local tax returns and recurring tax compliance.
• Experience responding to state tax notices with organized documentation and workpapers.
• Strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage responsibilities independently with strong follow-through.
• Working knowledge of SALT fundamentals including income tax, sales/use tax, nexus, and indirect tax concepts.
• Preferred experience with Avalara, AvaTax, NetSuite, telecommunications tax, or public accounting environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and support recurring state tax compliance processes, including returns, payments, schedules, documentation, and workpapers.
• Assist with quarterly tax provision support and maintaining audit-ready documentation.
• Respond to state tax notices, gather supporting audit documentation, and address tax-related requests.
• Support operational tax processes including business license filings, annual reports, and sales tax exemption tracking.
• Conduct tax research, summarize findings, and develop knowledge of telecommunications taxes and related compliance.
