Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company is seeking a State Filings Lead to drive regulatory compliance for P&C across all states. You will lead a team, coordinate with Product, Underwriting, and Compliance, and manage filings in SERFF while ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.

The role emphasizes collaboration with state departments, tracking changes, and maintaining data integrity across systems. Remote work is supported, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
• 3+ years of state filings experience in P&C.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Remote work possible.
• Travel 1–2 times per year.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor filing analysts.
• Research and guide product compliance with state laws.
• Perform filings in SERFF.
• Address regulatory objections with state departments.
• Inform Product and Underwriting of form changes.
• Coordinate with Compliance teams on system data.
• Oversee annual compliance filings.
• Coordinate WC updates from bureau/NCCI changes.
• Track ISO changes for Businessowners policies.
• Perform QC checks on filings.
• Manage CPUC filings and WC bureau accounts.
• Perform other related duties.
