Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is seeking a Staff Surveyor to lead large-scale land surveying projects from anywhere in the United States. An active Ohio Professional Surveyor license is required, but Ohio residency is not.

This role focuses on the technical aspects of surveying and delivering accurate products for pipelines, transmission lines, substations, renewable energy facilities, and large-scale utility programs.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Land Surveyor with ability to sign and seal survey plats.
• Experience executing land surveying tasks for large projects including pipelines, substations, or renewable energy facilities.
• Strong QA/QC experience and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Project Managers, surveyors, and project teams to plan and execute survey work within scope and schedule.
• Provide technical oversight to survey technicians and field crews on large-scale projects.
• Review surveys, plats, drawings for accuracy and compliance with Ohio surveying requirements.
• Sign and seal survey plats and drawings prepared under your responsible charge.
• Communicate with clients to clarify requirements and provide updates.
• Mentor and train survey technicians on state requirements and QA/QC procedures.
• Support additional project and team needs as assigned.
