Job summary
Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - SRE to enhance the reliability of Grafana Cloud’s databases (Mimir, Loki, Tempo, Pyroscope) across cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) as a SaaS product. This role partners with product engineering squads to own production reliability for high-SLA environments.
You will design SLOs, build automation, and lead incident response while collaborating with engineering leaders to influence product strategy.
Qualifications
- 8+ years engineering experience, 4+ in SRE/CRE/production engineering.
- Strong Kubernetes experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure and familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tooling (Helm, Terraform, Jsonnet).
- Experience operating multi-tenant systems in production.
- Experience with one or more programming languages (Go, Python, Java, etc).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities
- Regular 1:1s to with your manager and colleagues.
- Reviewing and creating SLOs, proactively investigating ways to further reduce budget burn for those SLOs.
- Improve observability of customers within their environments.
- Designing and implementing solutions to ensure reliability and scalability.
