Job summary

Second Nature is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development of scalable software solutions. You will mentor engineers, drive architecture decisions, and ensure technical work aligns with business goals.

The role emphasizes remote collaboration with cross-functional teams and ongoing adoption of modern cloud-native practices. You will shape high-impact systems, write robust code, and help define our technical roadmap while staying current with emerging technologies and AI-assisted

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development with design and architecture experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
• Experience with NestJS and PostgreSQL.
• Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures with Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Experience using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot) in daily workflow.
• Deep knowledge of microservices, distributed systems, hexagonal and domain-driven design.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of high-performance software systems.
• Write, test, and maintain high-quality code meeting functional and non-functional requirements.
• Drive architectural decisions for scalable and maintainable systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technology strategy.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements.
• Ensure coding standards and perform code reviews.
• Document architecture diagrams and API specifications.
