Job summary

Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Identity and Access to lead cross-team initiatives in critical user pathways. You will design and implement scalable services, mentor senior engineers, and drive architectural decisions that impact multiple systems.

The role emphasizes independence, strong communication, and active participation in the broader identity community. We are remote-first with a global team; compensation includes equity and potential bonus, and Grafana Shutdown

Qualifications

Extensive experience building and operating low-latency, high-throughput services in distributed, multi-tenant environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Bonus points for TypeScript/React experience and open source contributions.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of large-scale, multi-quarter initiatives in the critical path of user interaction across services.
Mentor and develop senior engineers, providing technical guidance and design feedback.
Represent Grafana Labs at meetups and conferences and contribute to the identity and authentication community.
