Job summary

Lanteris Space Systems seeks a Staff Software Engineer to join the Ground Software group. Based in Palo Alto, CA or remote within the U.S., you will build, deploy, and maintain telemetry and commanding tools for satellite programs.

You’ll work in a fast-paced, modernized software environment with opportunities to lead and mentor peers. You will design scalable full-stack software for spacecraft command and telemetry processing, collaborating with flight software, I&T, and mission operations

Qualifications

• 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field; four years of experience may substitute for a degree.
• Proficient in C++, Java and Python.
• Strong DevOps background with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and CI/CD (GitLab).
• Experience building services on AWS and using serverless technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop frontend and backend software for a spacecraft ground software system in an agile team.
• Modernize software solutions for assembly, integration and test of satellites.
• Perform peer reviews and create test cases to verify functionality.
• Document architectures, requirements, algorithms, and interfaces.
• Engage in requirements evaluation, design, implementation and testing discussions.
• Collaborate with flight software, I&T, and mission ops teams to understand user needs.
• Transition legacy systems to modern high-performance software architectures.
• Share knowledge and mentor other engineers.
• Respond to incidents with on-call support and automated monitoring.
