Job summary

Lanteris Space Systems is seeking a Principal Embedded Flight Software Engineer to join our team; work may be performed remotely within the U.S. with periodic visits to our Palo Alto, CA location.

You will design and implement embedded RTOS software for spacecraft, contribute to flight software architectures, and participate in verification and life-cycle management across challenging NASA-related projects.

Qualifications

• US citizen or permanent resident required.
• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or related field; four years of additional experience may substitute for a degree.
• 15 years of software development experience.
• Embedded C++ programming for multicore architectures.
• VxWorks and cFS experience; ability to travel to Palo Alto, CA as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software for embedded RTOS.
• Develop, document, and maintain architectures, requirements, interfaces, and designs for flight software systems.
• Develop software verification plans, unit level and open loop test suites, and procedures, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure that software system requirements are met.
• Perform software product life cycle management.
• Develop, select, tailor, and deploy software processes, tools, and metrics.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for software domains, processes, and system-specific issues.
