Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) invites a Staff Services Engineer to join teamLFG to build scalable backend game services from prototype to production. You will collaborate across disciplines, own core services such as sessions, matchmaking, and player progression, and communicate complex topics clearly.

Qualifications

• Production experience designing and building backend game services.
• Ability to communicate with customers of different technical backgrounds.
• Ability to diagnose complex system failures using logging and metrics.
• Ability to write, debug, and maintain code in Rust.
• Collaborate effectively within a cross-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production-quality backend game services.
• Collaborate daily with a cross-disciplinary team to design core services (sessions, matchmaking, progression).
• Write clear, concise technical documentation and emails to align multiple teams.
• Handle production incidents and participate in on-call rotation after launch.
