Job summary

DigitalOcean is seeking a Staff-level Product Designer to own the end‑to‑end console experience, from login to daily workflows. You will treat the design system as a product, own the component library, and set the craft and quality bar across the entire product suite.

You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, scale patterns for reuse across teams, and drive a clear creative direction. This remote role offers growth, equity, and a chance to shape how millions of builders interact with cloud

Qualifications

• Staff-level product design experience with a proven track record of building and scaling a design system across many products or teams.
• A systems thinker who designs for reuse and consistency at scale.
• Strong craft across interaction, visual, and information design with a portfolio showing UX impact.
• A history of influencing across dozens of teams via standards, partnership and persuasion.
• Comfort being senior designer in room, setting direction under ambiguity.
• Own the creative direction of the product, not just its consistency.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design of the console experience from login to daily workflows.
• Own the component library, patterns, and visual/interaction standards with engineering.
• Set the craft and quality bar for the product suite and establish a review process.
• Build reusable patterns so teams can ship well-designed UI.
• Own navigation, onboarding, app shell, and landing pages as reference examples.
• Collaborate with engineering to ensure designs land in product as intended and grow UI skills.
• Make simplicity and strong UX a differentiator with evidence-based requests.
