Job summary

Mysten Labs is seeking a Staff Product Designer to set the experience strategy for the DeepBook financial stack and on-chain products on Sui. You will lead the design of core journeys across trading, liquidity, and first-party applications, collaborating with product, engineering, and business leadership.

You will design for both retail and professional users while building a scalable design system and a practical research program.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product design experience with leadership experience
• Portfolio showing craft and leadership across data-dense products
• Experience in trading, fintech, crypto or high-stakes products
• Fluency in DeFi and on-chain concepts (swaps, order books, liquidity, etc.)
• Strong judgment in strategy, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration
• Skilled in interaction design, IA, visual design, prototyping, and systems thinking
• Experience building design systems and scalable operations
• Ability to navigate ambiguity with evolving inputs (product, market, legal)

Responsibilities

• Set the design vision, principles, and priorities with product and leadership
• Own end-to-end experience across DeepBook spots, margins, and liquidity products
• Lead core journeys: onboarding, funding, market discovery, order entry, settlement
• Design for diverse audiences: retail traders, institutions, developers
• Remain hands-on in high-priority work: problem framing, prototyping, testing
• Build scalable design systems and patterns for dense financial data
• Establish a practical research program using interviews and analytics
• Partner with engineering to understand protocol behavior and constraints
• Collaborate with legal, security, marketing, BD, and ecosystem teams
• Define design/quality measures and link work to activation and trust
