Training lasts 2–3 months with Monday–Friday hours, then standard shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and quality assurance to pharmacy technicians.
• Interpret physicians’ prescriptions and verify details.
• Contact doctors/patients to verify prescription information.
• Verify the validity of controlled substances.
• Confirm prescription data entered in the system.
• Coordinate with physicians for new/transfer authorizations.
• Collaborate with prescribers to switch to generics when possible.
• Counsel patients on medication use and potential interactions.
