Job summary

Docker, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in Networking to set the technical direction for the networking stack behind Docker's Sandboxes platform, enabling Docker's AI and security product expansion.

You will lead a small team, architect and implement core networking services across local laptops and public cloud environments, ensuring reliability and high performance. The role requires deep expertise in infrastructure at scale, container networking, service mesh, and orchestration,

Qualifications

8+ years building and leading large-scale cloud or distributed systems with networking focus.
Strong collaboration across remote, cross-functional teams.
Experience with container networking, service mesh, and orchestration.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and operate core networking services for Docker's Sandboxes platform.
Build scalable networking infrastructure for microVM orchestration and workload scheduling.
Develop high-performance networking data- and control-plane components.
Ensure network reliability, observability, and performance across Sandbox infra.
Collaborate with product, platform, and security teams on customer-focused capabilities.
Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and design docs.
Contribute to automation and CI/CD improvements across deployment pipeline.
Debug production issues across distributed systems in local and cloud environments.
Take part in on-call rotation to improve reliability and availability.
