Job summary

Docker, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in Networking to drive the technical direction of the networking stack for Docker's Sandboxes platform and to influence architectural decisions across Docker's product portfolio.

You will provide technical leadership to a small team of engineers, collaborate with product, platform, and security teams, and help scale networking infrastructure across local laptops and public cloud environments while enabling AI and security

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in large-scale cloud or distributed systems with networking focus.
Experience with microservices, container networking, and service mesh.
Strong Linux networking knowledge (kernel, OVS/OVN, DPDK, eBPF).
Proven ability to lead and drive technical consensus at scale.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and operate core networking services for Sandbox platform.
Build scalable networking infrastructure for microVM orchestration and scheduling.
Develop high-performance data- and control-plane networking components.
Ensure reliability, observability, and performance of Sandbox infrastructure.
Collaborate with product, platform, and security teams.
Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and design docs.
Drive CI/CD improvements across deployment pipelines.
Respond to incidents and drive reliability improvements.
