Job summary

Ad Hoc LLC is a technology partner delivering scalable digital services for government programs. This Staff Software Engineer - Full Stack role is remote, with responsibilities to lead technical initiatives and deliver high-quality software for public-sector projects.

You will collaborate with engineers, PMs, designers, and stakeholders, shaping technical direction while maintaining hands-on contribution and ownership across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 9+ years of software experience.
• Experience building modern web apps with React and Rails.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and distributed services.
• Cloud-native development, preferably AWS.
• Monitoring/observability with Datadog or similar.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of complex full stack apps.
• Plan and execute technical roadmaps with minimal guidance.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and clients.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Improve reliability, maintainability, and performance with best practices.
• Build secure, accessible applications and communicate tradeoffs.
