Job summary

Affi is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Frontend, to set the technical direction for our checkout experience. You will lead the design of the next generation of Affi’s frontend and raise the bar for frontend engineering across core checkout flows.

You will collaborate with product, design and analytics, own operations and on-call readiness, and mentor teammates while delivering high-quality, scalable UI across a remote-first team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience developing and architecting web apps with declarative UI frameworks.
• Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Delivery of major features or components with clear execution plans.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and reason from low-level to large system architecture.
• Proven track record of gathering and iterating feedback from peers.
• Strong verbal and written communication for global collaboration.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical strategy for your team on a year-long horizon.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to ensure sustainability and trade-offs are understood.
• Act as a force-multiplier by defining solutions and operational processes.
• Own team operations, monitoring, on-call readiness, and playbooks.
• Establish code and design standards and advocate them beyond your team.
• Mentor and develop talent through feedback and leadership by example.
