Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Frontend, to shape the next generation of our checkout experience. You will define frontend architecture, lead cross-functional collaboration with product, design and analytics, and drive high-quality, scalable UI across core flows.

You will own technical strategy, mentor engineers, and raise the bar for performance, reliability and code quality while maintaining a remote-friendly approach across the US.

Qualifications

• 8+ years developing and architecting web applications using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
• Experience delivering major features and deprecating existing functionality with a clear technical plan.
• Strong communication skills across global engineering and cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for the frontend team on a year-long horizon.
• Collaborate with product, design and analytics to ensure technical sustainability and risk management.
• Advocate for scalable solutions and robust operational processes.
• Own team operations, monitoring, playbooks, and on-call readiness.
