Job summary

Neumo is seeking a Staff Engineer to own the technical direction for Records and Tax platforms within a fully remote role. You will influence architecture, standards, resiliency, and performance across two platform families while collaborating with product, security, and engineering managers.

This is a senior IC role at director level, reporting to the VP of Engineering. You will shape data models, service boundaries, and modernization efforts, ensuring no disruption to agency workflows.

Qualifications

• 12+ years building and operating production software, staff/principal level experience.
• Ownership of architecture for large multi-team systems.
• Deep experience with distributed systems and data modeling at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own target architecture for Records and Tax platforms and how they share services and data models.
• Define engineering standards and ensure they are adopted across teams.
• Lead resiliency, performance, fault tolerance, and incident response.
• Partner with Security/Compliance to embed requirements in architecture.
• Mentor engineers and influence across distributed teams.
